iPod finding free vids

On behalf of those of us who aren't so computer savy, I would just like to ask the advice of those of you who are obviously way smarter than us.

I have an IBM and am trying to figure out how to get some videos and music videos for my new ipod. Any cool sites specialize in this that I should know about? Any way to avoid getting a debilitating computer virus? Basically, does anyone know of a great way to get some free videos? (btw, I tried the aol technique with no success)
