Finding misplaced photo

I am looking for a photo. I stuck it somewhere, but can't remember where! Not in iPhoto, however. What I'd like to do is do a search like: "find all .jpeg files, but don't include those in iPhoto library". How can I do that?
it was a photo that I edited in Photoshop Elements, then saved somewhere.

Go to Recent Items (click the Apple top left).

Either that or load up Photoshop and go to recent files.

Unfortunately it's not a recent file.
Any suggestions?
