I'm new on the mac. Suppose I have a bunch of files open on the desktop. Is there a way to get a list of the files so I can bring a given file to the surface?

Open files are usually handled by each particular program... TextEdit, Safari, Microsoft Word... each of them usually have a Window menu that will show you open windows, which are typically your open files.

i know what you mean.... i dont think theres a way by default to do this but there may be a program.... have you tried using spotlight?

Expose looks like it is the only way.
Spotlight seems to just be a way to search ... is there more too it than that?
