I saw all the other threads asking about how to get rid of misc. computers in the shared section in the sidebar.

I'm wondering why a computer won't show up and am asking for other ideas since I've exhausted my own.

I'm working with a Mac Pro, a Macbook and a Mac mini. The Mac Pro can see everything else, and the Mac Mini can see eveything else, but the Macbook does not see the Mac Pro (even though it does see the Mac mini). I need the Mac Pro to show up on the Macbook.

Here's what I've done:
updated all 3 to 10.5.7.
Repaired permissions.
Turned off firewalls.
Renamed the Macbook (as they were both called "xxxxxx's Computer").
File sharing is on, on all computers.
Tried "connect to server" to see if it would reinitialize a search for new shared computers.

None of this has worked so far so I'm looking for any other ideas. Let me know if you need any more info about the computers or the network. Thanks for your time.

Try turning on SMB on all the computers. Go to system preferences then sharing>file sharing>options.
