sorry for what may turn out to be a really dumb question, but I do not see the siri microphone on my iPhone 4s which I have just activated. all contacts, calendar, songs, apps etc are in place but no picture of the microphone button to activate siri

What do I need to do?

Thanks and sorry if this is a really lame question

Hold down the home button for a few seconds or bring the phone up to your face after unlocking the screen.

holding home button only brings up voice control for voice dialing

i finally found the siri button in general settings. it was OFF. sorry but thanks for the help all

That voice dialing feature should be Siri, unless it's just the blue-ish voice control screen, in which case, it would mean you have an iPhone 4 & not a 4S.

turn Siri on in settings. seems to come up as default off if restoring from a backup.

Also remember to turn on Location Services for Siri, mine was default off as well.
