Hi my daughter badly damaged the screen of my 5s.

I'm lucky to have someone donate their old 5s. They said that their phone worked before storing it away but now it won't charge at all.

I'm hoping it would just be a simple matter of swapping the screens. I'd like to use their perfect screen in my phone. Can I just use the finger sensor that is already attached to their screen?? Or do I need to surgically remove my finger sensor and place it on their unbroken screen before using it with my phone?

It's a mystery to me

The home button is paired to the logic board in the 5S. If you replace the screen and home button with one from a different phone, Touch id will no longer work. The home button will operate normally but you’ll lose Touch id and have to unlock the phone with a passcode exclusively. If you can reuse your original home button and install it on the new screen do it. It’s easy to swap it to the new screen and your Touch id will work normally. Be very careful not to damage the cable for the home button when removing it from your original screen it’s very delicate..
