Has anyone thought about this?
In my opinion there will be a connection in some way between these.
They developed iCloud Keychain to have all passwords of you in one place so you can trigger it with your thumb. So you have more security about your passwords while using them in Safari.

Your thoughts?

You just figured this out...?

Because all the news about the fingerprint scanner were saying "it will be only for unlocking your device" and iCloud Keychain is the perfect addition.
And yes, before they announced iCloud Keychain there was the problem where to get the passwords from users and where to intelligent store them.
Of course just my opinion. :)

I mean its pretty obvious.

The real question is, what APIs are available from the scanner for 3rd party apps to use. Imagine 1Password trying to go head-to-head with iCloud Keychain without access to the scanner. They are going to be dead ducks if Apple reserves the feature only for themselves.

It would be really disappointing if the "initially for just unlocking your phone" rumors are true. Pretty pointless if you ask me.
