Fingerprint sensor only works after wiping fingerprints away

Title. I don't always have to wipe them away, but I do a lot with my shirt to get it to work. I've deleted and input the fingerprints multiple times and no difference.

Anyone else have this problem?

Ah, I knew I should have mentioned that. It is not a problem of my hands being dirty, sweaty, etc.

After several days of basically flawless functionality, the fingerprint sensor has been very frustrating the past two days. Unlocking used to be an afterthought but now I am constantly doubting if it's going to work.

My fingers are clean and the sensor appears to be as well.

Seems like some people are having issues. But the majority seem to be having a lot of success.

Are you touching the sensor differently as an afterthought? I had problems until I realized I was touching it differently while taking it out of my pocket (using the base of my thumb) and while not paying attention (using the tip of my thumb). I reprogrammed my thumbprint using more of my thumb, which solved the problem.

I think your right there, only way I have it fail is when this happens. And I have pretty oily hands apparent by the way leave streaks on the screen much more so then my brothers.

If this doesn't fix the problem for OP he should have it checked.
