Finicky Power

My battery was down to 30% so I got a new one. I charged the battery for its 5 hours and it said it was charged when I unplugged it a couple of hours later the battery indicator on the screen was full with 98% charge then a minute later it was red with 0% and shut down. I restarted with power and once again the battery was charged but did the same thing over again. Now for the charger. It is also new, sometimes the light will be on, really dim or off. The batteries led's all light up. I've done the SMC reset. Is it a logic board problem?

it could be. or it could be a bad power jack on the computer. take to an apple store and see if the genius bar can do anything. i dont like telling people to do this but things like this need to be looked at by pro's

Ya, unfortunately the closest one to me is 130 miles away and the only day the have spots available is on the 30th
