Fire at EV1 knocks out 9000 sites - incuding ours

On Saturday night, an transformer explosion and fire at one of EV1 internet's datacentres in Texas blew out three walls of their electrical room and burned the underground wiring conduits to two floors full of web and mail servers -- 9,000 websites are off the air -- including ours.

Fortunately nobody was injured.

Unfortunately, back up generators don't do much good if your wiring is burned up.

I know or have known at least 15 people that have worked for the Planet at one time or another. The funny thing is, they are ALL from the same ISP (not EV1 or TP) I spent so many years working for.

I hope your store gets back online soon. I'll probably still recommend RAM from your store to all the Canadians who ask, since you always seem to suggest OWC, not yourself.
