I recently upgraded to firefox 4.0 and am having trouble viewing pdf's without downloading them. They used to open right in ff with a plug-in but nothing seems to work. I tried reinstall adobe reader but that didn't help.

Anyone have success?

There's a plugin that uses Apple's PDF engine in Firefox (see the last comment on that page for a link to download), but it will only work if you run FF4 in 32-bit mode (use get info, cmd+i in finder and tick checkbox for that). I don't think it will be updated to run in normal 64-bit FF.

So for future-proofing you might want to consider using an extension like this that automatically lets you view pdfs in google docs. It's a lot less elegant than viewing pdfs in safari or even chrome, but it's ok.

Really though, Mozilla should build some pdf viewing capabilities into Firefox.

Works fine for me in Windows. Guess you'll just have to wait until 4.0.1 or an update from Adobe for the Mac.
