Firefox, addon download fails to load

I'm running Firefox 16.0.2

When I try to download some add-ons I get a message that says, "This add-on could not be downloaded because of a connection failure..."

NOTE: This is NOT a connetion failure of my home network, but a "connection failure" between the addon and Mozilla (apparently, I'm guessing).

I searched the Mozilla forums and see that others - many of whom are far more knowledgeable with computers than I - are having the same problem.

Any help would be most appreciated.
