(I searched but couldn't find any thread dedicated to Firefox addons.)

Currently I use FireFTP, NoScript and PopUpMaster.

FireFTP looks very nice and user-friendly, but every time I try it, all I get is:
-- Unable to make a data connection. Please try again.
-- 501 Syntax error in parameters. : //
I can't seem to get around it. So now I use CyberDuck.

NoScript seems to work wonders. It stops scripts all over the place. And I like it's white-list idea. It gives me a (false?) sense of security.

I tried AdBlock Plus, but I couldn't see that it made any difference. I visited a few ad-heavy pages, and they looked the same before and after. Still, since so many people praise it, I suppose I'm missing something.

I'm not sure what PopUpMaster actually does, other than giving me a little icon that I can click on. I was hoping to find a way to avoid popups & popunders. While Firefox seems to suppress most of those all by itself, there are still websites that manage to create popups/popunders.

Anyhoo, I just wanted to find out which addons people tend to prefer and why.

I use Web of Trust and DownThemAll!

The first one is a pretty good addon that warns you if you are entering a potentially dodgy website and the second one is a very useful download manager.
