Is anyone else having this problem when they log into their AOL webmail through aol.com while using firefox and the fans go to the max and temperatures reach 75-80C?

It only seems to happen when I use firefox and then I have to force quit it because simply closing the aol page doesn't end it.

Any ideas?

thats odd..i have a 2.2SR blackbook and i run:

firefox
thunderbird
adium
itunes (song playing)

all at once and my temp is 48-52c (fan speed set to 2500rpm)

try downloading smcfancontrol and adjusting your fan speeds.

No no...everything runs fine and I have smcfancontrol...the only problem is when I am on firefox and go check my aol webmail that the temperature for some reason shoots up.

EDIT: hmm..check your activity monitor when you're on the aol webmail site. are the numbers really high under CPU? (for firefox)

Firefox usually made my MBP hot too. Switched to Camino and has never had any problems since :)

how?
