Firefox customization in OS X?

I want to make some modifications to how my Firefox Bookmarks Library is displayed (when I choose to Show All Bookmarks in Firefox). I understand that this can be done relatively easily on Windows platforms by modifying a userChrome.css file.

Is there a way to customize the Bookmarks Library display in OSX?

(Currently working with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, Firefox 31.)
