Firefox dock download progress

I'm using custom icon for Firefox but everytime i download a file the icon reverts back to stock, is there a way to (individually or globally) disable app activity on the dock?

I'm guessing all you did was theme the icon in the Applications folder. If so, do this: right-click on Firefox in Applications folder, choose Show Package Contents, then go to Contents > Resources and theme firefox.icns as well.
