Hm.. It seems that I have to log in as an admin user in order to have Firefox check itself for updates. I can't do it manually, either, as the "Check for updates" is greyed out on my help menu (I'm on Firefox 3.5.3, Snow Leopard). What do other folks do? Are most of you running as the admin user you set up with? I'm not willing to do that. I don't do it on my PC at work, I don't do it at home. I run as a standard user 100% and when OS X or a program needs admin privs to update itself, it asks me to authenticate. Firefox doesn't even bother. :-(

So I have to log in as my admin user every week or so just to check for updates? LAME!

And yes, I'm aware that this is a known issue elsewhere on the interwebs. I just wanted to see what folks here do about it.
