Dear experienced and knowledgeable people of MacRumors, I've just started downloading apps on my new MBA with Firefox being one of them. However, unlike the other apps I've downloaded, the Firefox icon appears to be a barred app instead (see attached image). There are no problems with it in Launchpad or Dock, just the Apps folder. Does anyone have any idea why and how I may go about fixing this?

Thank you very much in advance :)

Have you run it yet? It should go to normal when run.

If not then thats just weird :D

Thanks for your reply, and yep am running it right this instance and have for the past bunch of hours...

Open terminal and type: killall Dock

The dock will be killed and restart. The icon should be there now.

I've seen this on several apps I have installed on my MBP. Not sure why it's like that, but everyone I've ever seen eventually went away. Like you the app works fine even though it appears barred.

The app isn't barred.....it's just an issue with the apps icon not loading. Restarting the dock will clear it without a reboot or login/logout.

This has been happening since apple introduced stacks in the dock.

Thanks for all your responses!

Kevin's right about it being a superficial/icon image issue. I experimented with dragging the barred Firefox icon onto desktop and back into the Apps folder again, and now it's all good :)
