I did a search for this and could not find this issue specifically, so my apologies if it's been covered:

On 10.6.1, Firefox 3.5.3, I'm getting an issue where every 10 seconds or so, the browser will freeze for about 1-3 seconds. I don't get the spinning wheel during this time. Typically I'm either typing or scrolling through a page. Flash is not necessarily being used. The issue gets worse and worse the longer I keep FF open (it uses a ridiculous amount of memory even with only 3 or 4 tabs open).

The only extensions I'm using are adblock, flashgot, forecastfox, flashblock, xmarks, and Google toolbar.

Is this a known issue and is there something in about:config that I change? Thanks!
