Firefox lags on youtube

Everytime I watch a YouTube video in HD or in HQ Firefox always lags. Every 30-40 seconds the video pauses for about 2 seconds. It's weird because this doesn't happen in Safari so it must not be my computer...

any fix for this?
 
3.5 hasn't improved that at all for me - perhaps it's even worse (at least as of beta 4.) Any kind of Flash video is basically unwatchable.
