What sort of trickery is this?

I was on a forum and a posted image had a live link which was

http://javascript<b></b>:zb_insimg('32247','MultiRender.jpg',1,0)

However on Firefox somehow when the above link is pasted into a browser it takes me to http://wXw.html.it/articoli/nifty/index.html what is going on. How is this possible.

I replaced one of the "w"s in the above link so it wouldn't be live.

Were you reading the text on the forum or were you looking at the handy little bottom-of-the-window-link-truth-teller (roll over a link and the true address appears on the bar at the bottom of the firefox window)?
