Firefox makes random lines go bold

I've noticed for some time that now and then Firefox causes certain lines of text to appear in bold. If I scroll the line off the screen, the problem disappears.

The attached image (from news.bbc.co.uk) shows such a line. Has anyone else seen a similar thing?
