I know the way macs zoom is different (and subjective relative to windows) and everyone has their preferances. I actually the mac idea - windows only as large as needed. What's annoying is that non-Apple apps don't implement zoom/maximise as it should be in mac OS. The inconsistency of the green button depending on the application is really infuriating!

Is there anyway to make OSX firefox zoom/maximise like it should on mac OS (zoom the window to the size of the contents)?

Most likely not since it isn't a native app. If it were written in Cocoa then it would work, but since it's not, you'll have to wait until 3.0 for it to work.

It's a native application and it doesn't have to use Cocoa to be one. :D

Zoom behaviour is dependent on the developer, not the framework.

3.0 alpha is written in cocoa, and I didn't see it can do the maximize like you suggested.

for OP, I always drag the window to re-size, after all, not every webpage's content has same width.
