I'm running macOS 15.3.1 and the latest version of Firefox (currently 135.0.1) on both an M1 Max Mac Studio and an M3 MacBook Air and, probably since a recent macOS update, I've noticed on both Macs that the Firefox menu and the  menu disappear from the left side of the menubar after a while. Clicking the menu or switching away from and back to Firefox makes them reappear. The items on the right side of the menubar are unaffected.

I think that Firefox is the only application that shows this behavior but I can't say that for sure.

I've been searching the webs for someone with a similar issue but haven't found anything.

Anyone know what's going on?

I’m experiencing the same issue on my Mac mini with the M2 chip, running macOS 15.3.2 and Firefox 136.0.1.

The problem has persisted for a few months now. It’s quite simple to cause the menubar to vanish by simply minimizing and unminimizing a window. Interestingly, after switching to a light wallpaper today, I noticed that the menubar entries don’t actually disappear but rather become (washed out) gray, losing their contrast. On the other hand, dark wallpaper causes the menubar entries to disappear completely, likely due to the same issue of contrast loss.

I believe Firefox is the only application affected by this issue.

I use FFx exclusively, and use Stage Manager(SM) on two 4k Dells with my M2 Studio.

I only notice Menu Bar [edit: the entire bar] dimming when I specifically select one, or the other, opposite display.

This is true even when FFx is not running.

SM has always felt a little wonky/un-intuitive to me; maybe there's something there that's affecting these things?

I sent a bug-report to Mozilla, but nothing happened yet.

I definitely tested turning off all FF extensions as well as any macOS "helpers" on my two Macs. Problem remained.

I did a limited test for maybe 45 minutes in safe mode and the menu never disappeared.

I got the feeling that the problem has not been solved, but has become rare on 15.3.2
