Dear all,

I love using firefox on my MAC and I have been using it for the past 3 years and it was working fine. For the past week, whenever I open it, I get this message "Network timeout: The server at en-us.start2.mozilla.com is taking too long to respond."

Please help, because I have all my bookmarks saved in there !!

Thanks,

U guys are the best

Can you connect to the internet without problems using another browser? Sounds like a problem with your internet connection to me, if you're getting a network timeout.
If you can access the internet with another browser, try repairing permissions & re-booting Firefox. If worst comes to worst just backup your bookmarks and re-install the browser, no big deal.

the steps plz

hey Insulin Junkie,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I do not have internet connection issues, as the safari browser is working fine. Therefore may you please tell me the steps of how to reboot firefox?

Thanks

This error usually has nothing to do with your browser, and everything to do with the site you're trying to access - in this case the default Firefox start page. Try going to other sites after you get this error - if they work fine, then my suspicion is proved.

You haven't recently started using firewall software (like Little Snitch), have you?

As mentioned above you should definitely try clicking on some of your bookmarks or manually entering other URLs to see if you get the same timeout issues.

steps

Hey all,

I have tried manually typing the url and choosing different sites, but no luck!!

So, how do I "repair the permissions"

Sorry but I'm not much of a high-tech person.

Thanks
