Firefox .part file - how to continue download?

I was downloading a large 1.3GB file and when I paused it and resumed it again, it stopped working. All I have now is the .part file that is 999MB. Is there anyway that I can resume downloading this file from the 999MB point, so I don't have to download from the start again?

Try wget for mac http://radio.javaranch.com/bear/2005/03/02/1109829480523.html (unfortunately you have to compile it yourself) and then run it as following (in a terminal):

cd /directory/where/you/downloaded/your/file
wget -c http://www.exampleurl.com/examplefile.zip
