Firefox -> Save Image As

So I don't use this function very often (3 weeks ago may have been the last time) but for some reason, Save Image As doesn't work at all in Firefox on my Intel MBP. I tried several websites, and saving to several different places with no luck....its very confusing. I've used spotlight to see if the files saved somewhere I didn't tell them to, but haven't had any luck. I hit "Save" on the dialog box that appears and the images just never show up. Any ideas? I've tried restarting. I don't think I've updated firefox recently (and there are no new updates waiting). I am running the latest version of Tiger.
