Firefox script errors

I am having problems with firefox hanging on random websites from script errors. Once the script error comes up you might as well force quit because it pretty much hangs after that. Is this something I can avoid or is it pretty much a change browsers issue. Ive gone to areas where I got script errors on firefox with safari and safari seems to handle the scripts fine. so for some reason its only affecting firefox.
