Firefox stops working and wont quit.

i searched the forums but couldn't find an answer.

anyway, while using firefox for a good period of time at some point it decides to not go to the pages i want it to go to and when i try to quit the application it will not quit. i have to force quit it. this happens quite a bit and is frustrating. has anyone else had this type of problem and if so is there a way to fix it?

I would suggest a clean, new profile. there might be some corruptions in your old profile.

well i just dl'd Firefox v.3 beta and so far its running super smooth and actually a bit faster than the firefox i used to have.

sorry im still a newbie when it comes to Macs. what exactly do you mean by profile?

please excuse my naiveness.
