Firefox tab-opening irritation.

I'm requesting some help/suggestions for the following issue I have:

Often, I click a link in Firefox, and while it loads I change to MSN/IRC/iTunes etc. Being the superquick user that I am, I'm already about to press cmd+tab to change to that application. Unfortunately, my holding cmd means the link opens in another tab rather than in the one I was in..

Is there any way to disable cmd+click opening a tab in Firefox? I use two-finger click exclusively for opening tabs.
