Firefox3.1 & Safari freezes when accessing www.mlb.com

I think this started about a week ago, when using Firefox 3.1 or Safari some website including mlb.com freezes when loading... cursor turns into a pinwheel


any suggestions?

mbp 2.2ghz
4gig of ram
Mac OS X 10.5.6
