FireRocker HD, new Chiaro Software's radio app for the iPad, can record audio and create radio playlists.
Chiaro Software announced today the availability of FireRocker HD, its new radio app for the iPad. After a crazy rejection because the description contained BBC and CNN as featured stations, Apple has finally approved it(and we had to remove them from the description). FireRocker HD came to replace our old radio app called Radio Tool X Deluxe. All Radio Tool X products have been discontinued officially. However, all users of Radio Tool X products may download the FireRocker equivalent product for free.
FireRocker HD comes with more than 1600 radio stations, a beautiful icon and interface made by the designer Sergio Bergocce. You can add new radio stations (and share it with other people if you want to). There's also the possibility to record audio and update the stations database without updating the app. Another cool FireRocker feature is playlist creation, where users can list their favorite radio stations.
Other minor new features include a track info log, possibility of bookmarking songs, a "Get song on iTunes" button, info about the track being played(artist name, song name and cover art), shake the device to pick a random station (can be disabled; there's also a button that does the same thing without having to shake the device) and sending recordings to an e-mail account.
The Mac version of FireRocker is under development. It will probably be released next month.
FireRocker HD costs just $0.99 on the App Store and requires an iPad running iOS 3.2 or above. Remember, FireRocker HD came to replace Radio Tool X Deluxe and it's free for all Radio Tool X Deluxe users.
