FireVault on my iMac Tahoe 26.1 keeps switching off.
I click it on after my password, and within 2 seconds it turns itself back off.
What can i do?

There is specific procedure for enabling FileVault. Are you being prompted to choose how you want to unlock your startup disk after you enable FileVault?

You may get some more insight by enabling FileVault via the command-line, e.g.:

Code:
sudo fdesetup enable -verbose

Might be a Secure Token issue. If you boot into Recovery Mode, are you allowed to select your startup disk and authenticate with your user account, or do you get a dialog to the effect of "there are no authorized users"?

No - I just click it on.
I enter my password.
It switches on then off again in about 2 seconds.
