Hi,

I am trying to configurate my home server for "learning propouses"...

My macmini server is connected to a router which works as DHCP.

I noticed that when i turn on the firewall (that allow file sharing and screen sharing) the connection between the my macbook and the server became slower.

ex.
If i click on "share screen" i get a connecting message which last for about 2 minutes and then ask me to login and then again a couple of minutes...
But if i try to access to the screen sharing by typing the ip of my server at the place of the .local name, the answer is immediate!

With the firewall off, in all cases the answer is very fast...

What could be the problem?
Before u ask the changeip -checkhostname doesn't show any problem.

thanks:)

Sorry for the long message and the probably stupid questions:)

thanks a lot for the support!

I forgot to say...

The sharing folder works wihtout any particular issue even if with the firewall on...

The problem are about:
sharing screen (which is very slow in authentication) but the same problem doesn't happen if i type the ip address.

and also with "network account server" i cant get access if the firewall is on.

thanks one more time
