Firewire 800 drives wont mount

I have 2 laCie hard drives, They have been working fine for over a week i have one backing up with time machine and the other just as a spare drive.

Shut my mac down last night by ejecting the disc’s then shutting down the mac.

Turns the mac on this morning and they are not mounting, I have the connected via firewire 800. I’ve repaired permissions & also repaired the disc’s.

They do connect thou via 400 port on the front of the G5. So if my firewire 800 port is broke is there a way i can try and find out?

I had the same problem. Try resetting the SMU. Shutdown, unplug all the cables, give it 30 seconds or so, hook eveything back up and reboot.
