What is a good firewire 800 external drive enclosure? As we get closer to Mac OS X Leopard's release, time machine is going to be a hot topic. Are most firewire 800 drive enlosures the same as far as input and output of data. I know it also depends on the drive itself.

Not sure if this is the best out there, but yesterday I ordered a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822136047

I got it because price wise it was very nice. $250 for a Firewire 800 500GB drive is the best I have seen. I saw some Firewire 400 or USB 2 drives slightly larger at the same price, but I wanted Firewire 800 :p

There are 3 models to them, Essential, Premium and Pro. Pro is the only one that has Firewire 800. Between the Essential and the Premium it appers the only difference is some backup software that comes with it. Who knows if it works with Mac, or even how well.

I am creating a media libary right now that I will toss a few of these babies together to host all my audio, tv shows, and DVDs. (Yes, I have a TON of DVDs)
