FireWire clamshell problem?

So I got a free iBook G3 Clamshell. It is the Indigo model and it has FireWire. The only problem is that when i switched the hard drives out for a bigger one. Once I remembered that the bigger HD was actually dead, I put the original iBook one in. It doesn't detect a system folder and the HD doesn't look like it's being read or written to at all. So far I'm stuck right now with an iBook with no OS on it.

Oh, I guess just download any image file and burn a bootable DVD...

Just download the disk image and then use Disk Utility to burn the image to a CD or DVD. The fact that the burning is being done on an Intel Mac doesn't matter.

Oh, okay. I thought you needed the Mac OS 9 disk drivers to burn it
