Hi,
I have an ongoing problem with two scheduled cloning jobs that seemed to be caused by my environment (i.e.. I don't think its a Carbon Copy Cloner [CCC] fault).
My system is
MBP 2012, 15" running OS X 10.8.2
1 internal 256gb SSD (boot drive)
1 internal 750gb HD (in caddy in DVD bay)
Thunderbolt 27"
1 G-tech 2tb drive (powered)
2 x 750gb G-tech mini drives (bus powered)
All drives a daisy chained into the Firewire 800 port in the back of the Thunderbolt display. The first cable is 15 metres.
The 2tb drive is used by Time Machine. This is the 1st disk in the chain.
The next drive is a work backup drive.
The last drive is for the cloning tasks and is partitioned into 2 drives.
CCC is running 2 scheduled jobs. These have been occasionally failing overnight due to the target disk mount point changing. Whats actually happening is the disk is dismounting unexpectedly.
I have introduced a 3rd disk into my config due to space requirements so I am now setting up 1 clone drive per disk in the MBP. To achieve this I am moving the contents of the work backup drive to the new disk.
The new disk is connection directly to the MBP via Firewire 800. The source disk is in the existing Firewire daisy chain. This just produced the error below. This is the 2nd time the job has failed. The target disk just remounted automatically as I was typing this so I have started the job again.
Do you have any idea why this might be happening and if I can do anything about it.
Regards
Eric
