I have a penryn MacBook Pro and have been having some firewire problems ever since I first used it. I use my miniDV camera with the firewire 400 port and the camera is not recognized until I do alot of jiggling around with the cable in the port, and that will usually only last for a few minuets. I first thought this was just because I got a cheap cable, but I recently got a firewire 800 external hard drive, and whenever I have problems with the camera in the 400 port, the hard drive will disconnect as well. This leads me to beleive that there is something wrong with the firewire in general. Are there any troubleshooting steps I can take or do I just need to take this into apple?
Thanks

yes, i think its an issue with the logic board
just be glad it happened now, not out of warranty

Ok, thanks for your reply. Sorry to ask a stupid question, but this is the first time im going to be taking anything into apple care. Should I bring the camera/cable to show them the problem? Also, should I bring the MBP in the box?
