I have 4 500GB WD hard drives (mac format) in two external raid case (Not raided). when i connect each of the two cases using USB i can get all four drive no problem. but when i connect them using a single fire wire from the computer to the first case then on the the second case. no joy. nothing! what the heck is going on? i know firewire acts like a bus and daisy chaining them should be no problem but yeah nothing

The cable i am using is a 6 pin to 6 pin. does this make a difference? should i be using a 6 to 9 pin? the hd cases only have spots for 6 pin

Now when i connect the drive to my fathers iMac they work fine.... WTF!? why wont mine work. i have narrowed it down to my computer how do i go about fixing it?

Ok so it work on my fathers computer for about 10 min. then when i added the second drive case (daisy chained) every thing disappeared (both of the original two drives that did showed up.) now it doesn't work at all via fire wire? what the heck?
