Firewire file sharing permissions

I have a Mac Mini with OS X 10.5.8 and an older Mac with a G4 processor and 10.4.11. I sometimes want to transfer files from the G4 to the Mac Mini with a firewire connection. I put the files into the drop box on the G4, and activate file sharing on both machines. I can see the G4's drop box on the Mac Mini but can't open it. Msg says, I don't have permission to access. I'm the only "system administrator" but don't know how to set permissions.

You don't need to open the Drop Box, just drag the files/folders over there.
