I have a 2GB Iomega hard drive I use for my Time Machine backup. Just last night it disappeared from the desktop. It has power and is spinning, it just will not show up. Odd thing it that the Disk Utility still sees it.

I have reset the SMC, the PRAM, restarted, unplugged everything, tried a USB to the hard drive, switch ports on the computer, and it is still not working. I even hooked up to a windows machine. It did not show up under My Computer, but did show up under devices.

I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas.

When you say Disk Utility sees it, does it see the actual hard drive or just the enclosure's controller board?

If it's just the latter, then your hard drive has probably just died...

I hope you have backups...
