Hi,
This has been annoying me enough to complain to a fellow Mac user who suggested that the phenomenon may not be unheard of. Here's what happens: Every evening when I'm finished with my MBP, I turn off the power strip (that powers the charger, external monitor, USB hub and external drive), close the lid of the MBP and unplug the USB hub. When I start work in the morning, I turn on the power strip, open the lid and plug in the hub. Everything wakes back up with no problem except the Firewire drive. I have to power the drive off and back on to have it reconnect. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix?
BTW -- I used to go through the same routine with my old MacBook, the only difference being that it was connected (to this same drive) via Firewire 400. It would reconnect every day w/no problem.
Thanks,
Mark
