Hey, So I have an Imac and decided I wanted to make a movie using Imovies. I went to connect my videocamera to my Imac and realized the lead doesn't fit in the firewire port.

I did a quick google search and found there are adapters but which one do I need so that I can connect my video camera to my imac and import the footage from the camera?

The lead I have now (see image below) doesn't fit. I'd rather get an apadter than a new lead but I don't know which adapter I need. Is it a 6pin or 9 pin adapter? 400 to 800 adapter? I have to order it online because in all the shops I've tried in my local area they wasn't very helpful and said they didn't have what I needed.

Thank You :apple:

That connector is a firewire 400. iMacs, if recent, have firewire 800. You need an adapter from 400 to 800
