Has anyone used a firewire hub before? I have a Macbook and I am interested in getting one so I can use it when editing, since the macbook only has one firewire port.

Firewire hubs have been known to cause problems with DV devices and FW drives when using FCP/FCE. It would be better to daisy-chain the FW devices; connect your video camera to the external hard drive and connect your external hard drive to your Mac.

Daisy chain, that's what I do and it works fine.
