I wish to connect my PB and iBook as a network using firewire cable. I would like to have total access to the iBook from my PB.

I wish to have a DVD in my iBooks drive, and to be able to burn a copy of it on my PB.

Currently I can link the computers - but only so I can see their respective ' DropBoxes'.

Any ideas??

ps - I have done a search.

Thanks

If you have Mac OS X.4 (Tiger) you can network with FireWire. Just make sure that FireWire is enabled in the network system preference. It will work at 400mbps, or with 800mbps FW.

It sounds like you're not logged in as the correct user. When entering your user/pass from the Powerbook, make sure that you're using the master account. You also need to select the DVD you want to share (I dont think copying a DVD over a network is a good idea though) and make sure it is able to be shared.
