Firewire Problems

Can anyone help me please?
I have a G5 imac running osx tiger and wish to connect my g3 ibook via the firewire to the g5. If I put the g5 into target disc mode no problem the g3 running osx 10.2.8 can see the g5 as another hard drive. however the other way round is causing trouble. The g3 in target disc mode cannot be seen by my g5 . Its probably finger trouble but I havent a clue. Any ideas!!!

That is weird, though it may be due to the old OS on the iBook. What OS is the G5 running? Also which model is it?

Eraserhead, thanks for the prompt reply. The G5 is 2.1Ghz ppc 512 ram running OSX 10.4.11 The G3 is a 900 Mhz ibook twin usb running 10.2.8 384Mb Ram

I suspect its probably an OS/Firmware issue, as I can't think of another reason.
