What FireWire Port is the in the 2010 MBPs? I have a Seagate FreeAgent, and it has specific ports on the back one. The small FireWire port to the bigger one specifically. This is what it looks like--except not red. If someone could give me terminology I could use on monoprice.com that would be nice as well.

That cable looks like a Firewire400 standard to mini connector. The new MBPs have Firewire 800 ports which are different from either of those.

Which one matches the port on the hard drive? If it's the smaller one on the left (4-pin, or mini-Firewire), you'll want this cable:

and if it's the larger one on the right (6-pin, or Firewire 400), you'll want this cable:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10301&cs_id=1030105&p_id=3542&seq=1&format=2

Either way, you have a 9-pin (or Firewire 800) port on your MBP, so that will have to be one end of the cable.

Wonderful. Thank you Penguissimo.

I thought the FreeAgent was either USB2.0 or USB2.0+FW800 only.

Your not sure that it's a mini usb2.0?
I bought the 1TB version with FW800 and Usb2.0 and the USB2.0 port is indeed a mini usb.
