firewire to usb2.0 cable/adapters

Is there a such thing as an adapter that would have a male end firewire & the other end female usb?

I would like to use the firewire port on my macbook pro so as to have more usb ports, & a good fast direct connection for my external hard drives to my macbook pro, but my external hard drive has only a usb 2.0 cable connector, & no firewire.

No and there never will be. Firewire and USB are far too different.

Nope, not going to happen. Get set up with a small USB hub.
