Not sure if this is the right spot, but here we go anyways -
I'm debating on buying my first Mac. Haven't decided on MB or MBP due to a few debating issues and the nominal price difference really -

Anyways, one of the big drawbacks for me was that the MB didn't have firewire, which my camera supports...
But, I have now realized that my camera does USB video streaming as well. I have an older Sony DCR-HC40. My question is, if I opt for the MB and utilize the USB streaming, will I have lower quality than capturing through firewire? Will there be any performance/quality loss using USB instead of Firewire?
I understand the two are just the medium for getting the video on the machine. My camcorder is Firewire 400 and USB 2.0 compatible...
Thanks!
